Dear Cajun Nation,
I’ve had the privilege of coaching this extraordinary group of Ragin’ Cajuns for the past six years, and in that time, I’ve learned one thing: this program thrives because of its people—our players, our staff, and our supporters.

College baseball has transformed significantly over my coaching career, especially with the introduction of NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) and the transfer portal. With it or against it, NIL is here to stay and we must adapt to remain a competitive program.

That’s why I’m excited about The Cajun P.A.C.K. — a community of passionate supporters who are committed to helping our baseball program continue its legacy of success. With your contributions, we can recruit, retain, and reward talented student-athletes who represent our university with pride.

1903 to 2025

From 1903, when UL Lafayette first fielded a baseball team, to the present day, a lot has changed. Student-athletes now have the ability to transfer schools every year and players get paid, sometimes just to come to a program. The transfer portal and NIL (Name, Image, Likeness), like it or not, has turned college baseball into a business. Recruiting new players and retaining good players has never been more difficult. The formula for being successful has changed and programs must adapt their approach. Out of this necessity, THE CAJUN P.A.C.K. was formed.
