What is NIL?
Background
NIL stands for “name, image, and likeness”. It’s a legal concept that refers to the right of an individual to control how their name, image, and likeness are used. In college sports, NIL refers to the right of student-athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness. Before 2021, student-athletes were not allowed to make money from their NIL’s as part of their college sports contracts. However, a combination of NCAA rule changes and state laws now allow college athletes to profit from their NIL.
Empowering Athletes,
Embracing Opportunity
The Cajun P.A.C.K. is dedicated to supporting our baseball student-athletes by rewarding their efforts both on and off the field. We understand that there’s no such thing as “something for nothing.” Our approach to recruiting, retaining, and rewarding athletes is grounded in this philosophy. By fostering a team culture built on hard work and accountability, we’ve successfully navigated the challenges of the ever-evolving NIL landscape.
